How Edge Works
An Edge (ADD) ADHD coach supports students in their quest for academic and personal success.
If your child has (ADD) ADHD, the Edge Foundation wants him or her to have a (ADD) ADHD coach. You'll find that it's easy to provide your son or daughter with this critically important support.
Parent/Student Steps to Getting an (ADD) ADHD Coach
- Determine whether the institution of higher learning that your child is attending or will attend is an Edge Partner.
- If so, your college student can enroll on campus. Then proceed to Step 5.
- If not, then proceed to Step 2.
- Request an application.
- Complete the application and submit it via fax or mail to us. We may call you to request additional information.
- Select one of three (ADD) ADHD coaches that will be referred by Edge within a few weeks. You will find it helpful to visit the (ADD) ADHD coach bios page.
- Have your child participate in an in-person intake interview with the selected (ADD) ADHD coach to establish
- whether a comfortable connection can be made (if not, the candidate may select another coach),
- whether the candidate wants to be coached and is "coachable," and
- whether coaching would be beneficial for the candidate given his or her particular situation.
Edge Foundation Criteria
The Edge Foundation examines each applicant's case very carefully to determine whether to accept the candidate, waitlist the candidate, or reject the candidate. The criteria used by Edge staff and ADHD coaches are as follows:
- Does the candidate have ADHD?
- Is the student coachable and would he or she benefit from ADHD coaching?
- What is the recommendation of the academic institution?
- Is a qualified ADHD coach available in the candidate's location?
- Are the candidate's parents committed to pursuing the Edge Foundation's services and do they accept the terms of the Parental Financial Responsibility Agreement?
- Does the candidate agree to the Edge Foundation general terms and conditions?
- Does the candidate accept the terms of the Research Agreement?
- Is the candidate able to afford ADHD coaching? If not, does the candidate qualify for a scholarship?
